Brew Fest Update

Where are we at with Brew Fest…..????

As far as I know Brew Fest at Bushel and Peck’s is not going to happen.  I have not received any updates about this, nor have I really asked for any. For those who brewed beer for this event, I’ll say sorry. I also brewed for this event.  More beer for us!

Here is some information I have about having Brew Fest at Sud’s. I talked with Tom and he said we could pick any date we would like as long as he didn’t have anything booked. I asked if Saturday was OK and he said no problem. I asked about starting times and he said what ever we want to do. I also asked about SBS calling in vendors of our choice, again he said do what ever we want. I think we could make this into a cool event.

Mike had a good idea at the last meeting. He thought maybe having the Brew Fest the same month every year.  I think that would cut down on confusion and have something to plan for.

I could use some input on this.

Questions for discussion.

Should we wait for college to be in session to have brew fest?

If we would like to plan a Fest soon what are some suggested dates? Tell me what weekend is good for you. Majority rules!

Do I have any volunteers for this? This would involve having a Brew Fest planning meeting at the bar of my choice.

Any other comments?

I think having a beer festival while the college is in session would make for a better turn-out and more ‘excitement’ about the fest. Granted, the excitement would be about FREE good beer, but there might be some who are excited about free GOOD beer.

Any weekend in September would be good, as long as it’s not Labor Day weekend. If it were a Saturday afternoon, maybe we could pull in some Farmer’s Market-goers…

    I volunteer to help plan.

Hi… As much as I would like, I can’t commit to helping out. I just don’t have that much control over my schedule If i am off, I will help….. What I will commit to is to brew a 5 gallon batch for the event, providing you give me about 6 weeks notice. I can do a keg if someone will take care of my equipment, but I think bottles would be the better idea.

    Regards…. Jim
