Spring Brew Fest 2008
Friday - May 23rd
First off, thanks Chuck and Brew and Grow from Rockford. They had many beers and wines to sample and did a great job serving the masses. Also in attendance with beers: Mark, Trent, Chris, Ryan, and Steve. Thanks to the family and friends that showed up and help us, Fest. We had a no show for the beer distributors. That sucks. We did have a nice stream of people most of the night as far as I remember….. Also thanks to whoever cleaned up. I was kind of unaware of things at the end of the night…

Freshened up the web site. Take a look around. It should be easier to find things.

4.1.08 - Collected about ten gallons.
I tapped the maple tree again. I need to find a beer style to fit with the maple sap. I’m thinking of a German Dunkel.

Step 1 - Tap the tree.
Watch for updates!

An American St. Patrick’s Day tradition. Green Coor’s Light.

New and old faces. Mead beer and wine. Doesn’t get much better.

London Amateur Brewers
We were invited by Antony Hayes to join the London Amateur Brewers at the Wenlock Arms Pub (upstairs in the fine meeting room) - we arrived after only one wrong turn and an extra mile of walking (I forgot the GPS). They had 12 cask ales available along with several other taps.
This month they had presentations on Bitter (English Pale Ale) from Mick and cleaning and sanitizing from Tony. Beers by Phil (2!), Paul, Mick, Mark, and Evin. Great beers guys - sorry we couldn’t bring ours. Thanks for the pub recommendations (and directions from Dan)! Mike also suggested we check out durdenparkbeer.org.uk - historic beer styles and recipes.

Smaller turn out but good beers. Plus if felt nice being back at suds. The best part most of you missed. Someone dropped their cell phone directly into a pint of Guinness. “Epic Fail!” It was a perfect shot. Also, I was told not to use Ryan’s name in posts so there was no one named Ryan at the meeting…. Was that O.K. Ryan?
I’m such a jerk……..
